Hey everyone,

I'm reaching out to ask for fundraising support for the nonprofit I work at called The Relational Center (TRC). TRC offers low-cost individual, family, and intimate-relationship counseling, and free and low-cost groups, classes, and workshops in Los Angeles. TRC’s mission is to lead a shift to a culture that values empathy, diversity, and interdependence, and in line with its values, TRC makes this support financially accessible to the community: most of our members pay between $60-$160 per month for weekly counseling and access to unlimited groups, classes, and workshops.

I was originally drawn to TRC due to their values of empathy, connection, and anti-oppression, as well as the unparalleled training experience they offer for therapists. Two years later, I have made TRC my therapy home. I am honored to be able to build a sustainable private practice at TRC while also providing sliding scale and free support to my community. My coworkers show up for each other in ways I have never experienced before in any workplace setting. They are changemakers, activists, friends, and gifted therapists. One of my favorite projects at TRC has been leading three rounds of our 12-week psycho-education workshop, Bodies and Trauma, which works to strengthen mind-body connection, provide empowering knowledge about the nervous system and trauma, and teach tools and take steps toward healing. Bodies and Trauma has also given me the opportunity to meet a much greater portion of the TRC community, and taught me firsthand how resilient, curious, compassionate, and remarkable our clients are. This community has changed me for the better, so I am reaching out to you for support in helping us continue to do the important work we do.
