The experiences that I have had with anxiety, depression and loneliness throughout my life drove me towards a path of healing. There was and is an innate part of me that seeks something more, something deeper, something freer from life. When I was twenty, I started going to therapy because of the lostness that I felt. Therapy supported me tremendously in stepping into a fuller, more realized version of myself. A self that consisted of authenticity, social connection and more purposeful daily living. I started becoming so interested in self-understanding and psychology that I ended up going back to school to get my Master's in clinical psychology. This led me to the Relational Center. The wonderful organization where I have trained, led a men's group, and been a psychotherapist for my clients for the last year. Things have definitely not been easy with everything going on in the world. The Relational Center's values on community, support, interdepenence, and the inherent worthiness of all beings has been a guiding light for me throughout the entirety of this truly difficult and unprecendented time. I have felt so supported by the Relational Center in stepping into a truly vulnerable and demanding role of being a therapist. And I am so grateful for the love and wisdom that I receive on a daily basis interacting with all the amazing, big-hearted members of this community. Since we are a non-profit organization that exists solely off of fundraising, it is crucial that we get financial support from our extended community to keep our doors open. I have experienced firsthand how important this work is to our clients- generally folks who otherwise would not be able to afford mental health care and support. If you are able to give this year, no matter how big or small, I assure you your donation would be going to a truly life-giving cause. Also, the donations are tax write-offs which always helps! Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you have a wonderful New Year.
