Hey everyone,

I'm reaching out to ask for fundraising support for the nonprofit I work at called The Relational Center (TRC). TRC offers low-cost individual, family, and intimate-relationship counseling, and free and low-cost groups, classes, and workshops. TRC’s mission is to lead a shift to a culture that values empathy, diversity, and interdependence, and in line with its values, TRC makes this support financially accessible to the community: many of our members pay only $60 a month for weekly counseling and unlimited groups and workshops.

I was originally drawn to TRC due to our shared values of empathy, connection, and anti-oppression. Two years later, I am constantly humbed by the folks TRC has allowed me to connect with: my TRC colleagues truly embody the term changemakers, constantly striving towards growth and dismanteling systems of oppression, including in the counseling room; and my clients are brave, remarkable, and resilient. I am continually awed by them, and changed by them.

I was able to experience TRC's relentless, heartwarming care firsthand this past year. After Harry and I lost our baby this summer, my TRC community showed up for us in full force: in addition to making sure my clients were supported, they brought us food, checked in daily, came over to cry with us, and ensured we were surrounded by love and support as we took time to process and grieve.
