Hello Friends,

Thank you for considering a donation to help The Relational Center continue to do its radical work.

Once again, as some of you might know I've been working with The Relational Center (TRC) for a few years now and have recently had the honor of joining their Board.

As a new mama, I'm understanding mental health and wellness in a completely different way. Feelings of isolation are common and connection is not only a soothing balm but a salvation during these tender and critical times. This organization understands the urgency of creating connection amidst of time of isolation and cultural polarization. TRC holds the center for many many folks.

A little more about TRC:

TRC operates from a justice-wellness framework offering access to long term individual and group counseling for those that don't meet the standards of the Department of Mental Health and those that could not normally afford long term psychotherapy. TRC also provides meditation, yoga and breathwork groups, acknowledging that treating the soma is critical in addressing holistic health. Additionally TRC trains it's clinicians that psychotherapy is political work, we bring the larger historical cultural influences of our human experience into our individual and group work and are transparent about our values of interdependence, diversity and radial inclusion.

As one example of clinical orientation, we believe that an individual's experience of depression or anxiety for example is often a natural response within a culture that urges personal material success and therefore not self-created but co-created within the our conditioned myths of meritocracy. To seek support for depression and anxiety is an act of leadership, a step toward awakening and de-conditioning.

TRC seeks to untether its client members from these cultural narratives of self-worth that would dispirit and depress and instead promote the essential value of relationship. We believe that by cultivating relational values, we create necessary conditions for health, equality and sustainability. So we teach and facilitate personal, interpersonal and social practices that support and grow strong, resilient relationships.

Because TRC does not operate on government funding, it is reliant solely upon the generosity of its wider community.

Please consider donation, no contribution is too small!

With warm regards and deep gratitude,

Gabrielle
