Twelve years ago I was shot and parazlyzed while I was working as a police officer in Los Angeles. In the aftermath of this life-changing injury, I had to discover something which was meaningful, I was passionate about and fulfilled a purpose. Through the experience of my own therapuetic process, I realized the cornerstone of healing and well-being in the recovery process and in life is the empathic, holding connection with other people. As a Masters of Social Work-intern, I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to work at The Relational Center (TRC), where they value the importance of relationships and acknowledge the attuned relationship between the therapist and the client is integral to the healing process.

TRC provides therapeutic services to clients at affordable sliding scale rates.  They offer individual, couples and family counseling, as well as groups and classes in mindfulness, and meditation, harm reduction, support and process, yoga, making connections and many more.  The Relational Center is a unique and rare holistic community wellness center that combats social injustice and isolation.  

TRC is a nonprofit organization that exists through donations.  Every year we host a year-end appeal that offers our supporters one last opportunity to make a tax-deductible donation to The Relational Center.
