The Relational Center is an incredible mental health community center in Los Angeles, California. Not only does the center provide therapy services for individuals, couples, and families, but also offers group therapy, yoga and meditation classes, and serves as a space that can be used by the community for organizing, building, and coming together. My name is Kamil Lewis and I am fortunate enough to be a practicum trainee at The Relational Center. I am currently pursuing a Master of Clinical Psychology degree at Pepperdine University. My time at The Relational Center (TRC) has given me an opportunity to learn and grow in ways I could not have imagined, both about mental health, and myself.

TRC places strong value on relationships and connection, which lies at the core of humanity. TRC not only provides trainees with exposure to working as therapists but emphasizes leadership and community, which is important in creating larger scale interconnectedness. TRC is a practicum experience that is inclusive, thorough, and considerate of the experiences of marginalized people. This is significant to me, and I value the deep commitment to social justice TRC provides. The Relational Center's ideals and goals align closely with my own, and the opportunity to be here has been transformative, and continues to be a positive and essential part of my graduate school experience. Your support will be monumental in ensuring TRC is able to continue to provide mental health services, which is so essential in our world today. Thank you!

ABOUT 2018 Year-End Appeal

Every year we host a year-end appeal that offers our supporters one last opportunity to make a tax-deductible donation to The Relational Center before the end of the calendar year. Our goal for the 2018 year-end appeal is $30,000. These funds are critical for sustaining The Relational Center's community. With your support, we can continue to integrate individual healing and systemic cultural change through affordable comprehensive mental health services to low-income and marginalized folks. Help us build stronger, more empathic communities that can change the world!
