For the past few months, I have been working as a mental health counselor at The Relational Center (TRC), a nonprofit organization which is committed to providing high-quality wellness and counseling services for individuals with low incomes. The majority of our members pay only $50 per month to receive weekly counseling and access to unlimited support groups and wellness classes. With 85% of our members at or below the poverty line, we rely on generous donors to keep TRC afloat. A small donation of $10 is enough to buy someone a full hour with a counselor. Every year we host a year-end appeal that offers our supporters one last opportunity to make a tax-deductible donation to The Relational Center before the end of the calendar year.
