Id like to share something about myself...
This past year I struggled with some deep depression.
Personal losses, events and just the STUFF of life exacerbated the issue and there were many moments I felt so truly lost. If it wasn't for my core group of friends, I doubt I would have pulled through. I had friends to guide me, friends to hug me, and most importantly friends to share with me their personal journey with depression. I couldn't thank these folks enough for the phone calls, texts and hugs that got me out of bed and back to work. My community saved me and Im paying it forward.
In 2011, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention adopted promoting connectedness as its strategic direction for preventing suicidal behavior. Positive and supportive social relationships and community connections can help buffer the effects of risk factors in people’s lives. For those dealing with the darkness, a safe space where they can feel a part of a community is a grounded step toward finding the light.
The core mission of the Relational Center is to provide a safe place for those who dont have the same kind of support I had and that is why I am asking for a donation today.
At the price of a movie ticket you can help one person with a month of counseling, yoga classes, support groups and most importantly a safe space to connect with others. So, if this message reaches you, please consider what a small donation will do for someone that is struggling. Someone who might not be as privledged.

ABOUT 2018 Year-End Appeal
Every year we host a year-end appeal that offers our supporters one last opportunity to make a tax-deductible donation to The Relational Center before the end of the calendar year. Our goal for the 2018 year-end appeal is $30,000. These funds are critical for sustaining The Relational Center's community. With your support, we can continue to integrate individual healing and systemic cultural change through affordable comprehensive mental health services to low-income and marginalized folks. Help us build stronger, more empathic communities that can change the world!
